Guitar Pickups |

The difference between the Air Zone and the Tone Zone is very slight.The Air Zone is a 'vintage' version of the Tone Zone, it has a little warmer sound,and is a fraction less powerful...it takes a trained ear to notice these differences, which means of course, that Patrick is very aware of it! If necessary, Patrick could switch between a guitar carrying a Tone Zone and another carrying an Air Zone, with little or no change being made to his amp. settings. |

Dimarzio - Tone Zone
|
The Tone ZoneŽ has the most dramatic tone curve of the Modern Classic Humbuckers. |
|||
Dimarzio - Air Zone |
A vintage version
of The Tone Zone - with the same low string-pull as other DiMarzio Airbuckers
for singing sustain, plus it has the big bass response and cool harmonics
of the Tone Zone but with a little less power and more sensitivity and control. It is a great match
for very hot amps. allowing the player to take full advantage of massive
preamp gain without turning the sound to mud or fuzzy noise. It's also
a great neck pickup for jazz players who need to get the hollow-body
archtop sound form a solid body, and it offers exceptionally good split
and series parallel capability. |
