The first accoustic guitar made its public début at Espace Albert Camus, Bron 24 Nov 1998 - a venue requiring the audience to remain seated throughout the concert. At the end of this performance Patrick deservedly received a 'standing ovation' from a capacity audience.

Ranked as one of the top guitarists in the world, the sound and quality of his equipment is very important to Patrick.
The sound and tone of this instrument is clean and precise - as close to real accoustic sound as is possible with an electro-acoustic instrument!
Patrick has been using his Xavier Custom on most if not all of his acoustic work.

The shape of the head has become a little more stylish in recent models but still bears the signature of Xavier Petit and also a little frog.
The neck has a very intricate inlaid stem/leaf design and 3 little frogs on the fretboard.
The guitar has been hand-made especially for Patrick and is unique!

Also made by Xavier Petit :
A small 1/2 sized blue electric guitar, tuned in the key of 'C',
presented to Patrick shortly before the G3 Tour 1998.
Patrick says:-

"The sound is amazing, I am very impressed with it.
I have some songs in the key of 'C', I would like to use it
for live playing sometime!
It even has my little frog on it!"

Xavier made and presented a similar small guitar to Joe Satriani.
Joe was absolutely delighted with it.
His guitar has the initials 'JS' on the head.
